Carlos Garaicoa’s multidisciplinary approach includes architecture and urbanism, history, and politics, while focusing on modernist utopian architecture and the collapse of 20th-century ideologies. Garaicoa has exhibited extensively in museums, biennials and galleries around the world. He has participated in the 53 Venice Biennale (2009); the Havana Biennale (2009); and Documenta II, Kassel (2002). Other recent exhibitions include ‘Overlapping’, at the IMMA (2010); La Caixa Cultural, Rio de Janeiro (2008); Institute of Contemporary Art, Philadelphia (2007); and the Royal Ontario Museum, Toronto, (2006).
